Description
This is Thunder an injured eagle who was shot with a bee bee gun near the eye. The eagle was named Thunder thinking it was a male. Then one day it layed an egg so guess what, it is a female. She is not able to be free because of her loss of vision from her injury.

Thunder is kept in Sebring, Florida at the Wrede's Wildlife Center. I will be planning a trip there soon. I was at a Native American Pow Wow on Saturday and Thunder was on display. She weighs eight lbs and is 20 years old. Because she is being cared for she will probably live to be 30-40 years old. In the wild I am told it is normally 30 years old. Her caregiver and her have a loving relationship. The center is run by volunteers who donate their time to the wildlife that is there.
